This picture within a picture is of my brother and I, 12 years ago. Taken from the same spot in my Grandmothers house. It’s crazy how much can change in such a short period of time.

Our photography teacher had asked us to take a creative photo of shoes last year, and although the shoes are not very visually appealing, they are nicely placed on a pedestal with a unique setting in the back.

This photograph was taken in Victoria Park. I saw a painting that looked very similar to this photo; with the same bridge design and everything so I decided to get creative and edit the photo to appear more like a painting.

In this photograph, I incorporated perspective to enhance the piece. Taken at my cottage along the French River, I poured myself some wine to enjoy on the back deck. As I did this, the tree line appeared upside down in the reflection so I thought it would make a unique photo.

In this creative photography piece, I found a pair of shoes dangling from a telephone wire, and since I found it to be a very simplistic picture, I changed the colour scheme to yellow and black to create a neoplasticism piece.

In this alphabet photography piece, I traveled around Kitchener, Ontario looking for objects that resembled letters. After much looking, I finally was able to produce the word imagine.

  1. (For the wine glass photo)

This is such a unique picture, I feel like I should look upside down but I don’t, it’s really unique and different. It also reminds me of a snow globe like it’s a tiny world trapped inside a globe.

It was a nice counter balance in the ground and trees and how it’s flipped inside the glass. Probably accidental, there is a flare of red on both sides of the glass against the green tress.

I like how it was placed real close to the center because it creates an approximate symmetry composition. Another thing that was cool is that you can see the scratches in the cup as well as little spots of flare created from the sun.

  2. (Wine glass)

I love the fish eye effect that the refection created. I like how you can watch as the trees begome more and more distorted by curling. I like the colour, it isn’t too saturated or too dull. But i just think that the image would have been better if it had been cropped to focus more on the trees. I find it’s the most interesting part to look at, followed by a long dull space, until you get to the edge of the glass to the flare. I don’t think keeping it big and maintaing the flare was worth kepping the rest of it, and it would have been more interesting without the rest.

  3. (Bird)

I like this a hell of a lot more then normal neoplasticism. I may be somwhat biased becasue I really like birds, and art that has to do with birds. The use of lines was done excellently. By putting them on an angle it adds tension to make the image more dynamic. Also, because the lines do not exit the page in a corner of in the middle of the page it make it compositionally appealing, so good job! it’s a nice simple yet intriging image!

  4. (Wine Glass)

I love this photo. The reflection in the water adds a great effect that shows a message of seeing the world through a different view can open up a whole new world. Also i loved how the background of the photo was blurred so you can only see through the glasses reflection. It really added a neat effect. At first look i felt kind of curious and intrigued. Good photo!
